Book Week
Book Week is a special time at Wentworth Falls Public School, where we come together to celebrate a love of reading and storytelling. Throughout the week, students enjoy a range of engaging activities in their library lessons, including a much-loved costume parade and a vibrant book fair. These events help to spark imagination, promote literacy, and build a strong reading culture across our school community.
Education Week & Open Day
This special week highlights the importance of education in shaping our future and recognises the achievements of both students and staff within our school community. School open day is an opportunity for students, parents and carers to get to know our school and to see what happens in our classrooms.
Throughout Education Week, we will host a variety of engaging activities, workshops, and events that showcase the diverse talents and creativity of our students. From classroom displays to student performances, everyone will have the opportunity to participate and celebrate the power of education.
Special Days - Harmony Day / NAIDOC
Wentworth Falls Public School proudly celebrates the diverse backgrounds of our students and families. We value inclusivity and belonging, and this is reflected in our everyday practices and whole-school events. Harmony Day in March is a key celebration, bringing our community together to share culture, promote respect, and strengthen unity through food, music, and meaningful connections.
Each July, Wentworth Falls Public School proudly celebrates NAIDOC Week, honouring the histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In partnership with families and community, we share culture through storytelling, art, dance, and meaningful experiences, reflecting our ongoing commitment to deepening cultural understanding and strengthening Aboriginal education.
Celebration of Student Success
Our annual Celebration of Student Success assembly marks a special occasion in the school year, bringing our community together to acknowledge the achievements and growth of our students. The event recognises excellence across academic, sporting, cultural, and citizenship pursuits, while also celebrating the effort, resilience, and personal progress shown by all learners. Families and community members are invited to join us in this important tradition, which reflects the pride we hold in our students and their many contributions to the life of our school.
Night of the Notables
Our Night of the Notables provides an engaging opportunity for students to showcase their learning and research skills. Each student selects an influential figure, explores their life and achievements, and presents their findings through displays and presentations. The evening highlighted the depth of student inquiry, creativity, and confidence, while also offering families and the wider community a chance to celebrate the outstanding work of our students.
Our school offers a wide range of clubs and activities that allow students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and engage with the school community beyond the classroom. The Chess Club meets regularly and also hosts an annual one-day tournament, welcoming keen players to test their strategy and problem-solving skills. The Kilometre Club encourages fitness and perseverance, with two excursions held each year to celebrate the achievements of our runners. Every stage has the opportunity to participate in Robotics Club for a term, fostering creativity, teamwork, and technological skills. Our Recorder Groups and Bands provide rich musical opportunities, with performances shared with a variety of audiences throughout the year. These programs reflect our commitment to nurturing the talents and passions of all students.
Choirs
Our school choirs proudly participate in three significant events each year, providing students with the opportunity to share their love of music with the wider community. The Festival of Choral Music at the Sydney Opera House brings together voices from across the state in a spectacular celebration of song. The Upper Blue Mountains Narragunnawli Festival highlights the importance of Reconciliation through performance, culture, and community connection. Closer to home, the Celebration Sing Out unites local schools in a joyful showcase of music and collaboration. These events not only enrich our students’ musical experiences but also strengthen their confidence, teamwork, and sense of belonging.
