Covid-19 Guidelines 2021 Term 1 2021

COVID-19 Guidelines – Term 1, 2021

Dear parents / caregivers

Following is the latest update in regards to COVID guidelines for the start of our school year..

The guidelines are available on the department website here: https://education.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/advice-for-families

Important Information for the first day of school

·         From Friday 29th January – Tuesday 2nd February, parents and carers of students who are in Kindergarten, Year 1 and 2, may enter the school grounds to drop off and pick up their children provided they are following the expected hygiene measures and physical distancing requirements by the Department of Health NSW. From Wednesday 3rd February we will be back to the drop off and pick up arrangements that were in place at the end of 2020. Year 1 and 2 classes will be brought to the lower pedestrian gate in the afternoon for parents to collect their children.

·         From Wednesday 3rd February – Monday 8th February, Kindergarten students may be brought into school and picked up from within school if needed.  From Tuesday 9th February, kindergarten classes will be brought to the lower pedestrian gate by their teacher for parents to collect just before the 2:25pm bell.

·         When dropping off a K-2 student within the school during the above dates, parents/carers must remain outdoors and maintain physical distance from other children and adults. Students should put their bag away in the morning then must move to the COLA. Once students have moved to the pebblecrete parents should must leave the school.

·         All students in Years 3-6 should be dropped off and picked up from the school gates. It’s a good idea to talk with your child and organise a meeting point outside the school so that they know where to go to meet you. As we are expecting rain tomorrow student can put their bags at the old classroom and these will be collected once new classes are formed. As mentioned previously, Years 3 and 4 should assemble on the pebblecrete with Years 5 and 6 going to the basketball court.

·         Parents / carers who are visiting the school for any other reason must sign in at the office. You will need to complete the visitor book and complete the Services NSW “COVID Safe Check In’. There will be QR codes posted in a few places to make this part of the process a little easier.

·         We will be holding parent / teacher meetings early this term with more information sent out in Week 2. If you need to speak to your class teacher before these meetings please contact the office to organise an appointment.

·         Our swimming carnival is scheduled for Week 3. More detailed information regarding the carnival, parent involvement, etc will be sent home as soon as we can.

I thank all of our families for your understanding and support during the commencement of our new school year. I expect guidelines may change regularly throughout the term and I will ensure I keep our community up-to-date with these changes.

Kinds regards

Richard Giles
